Salt & Straw, on the Upper West Side and the West Village, was co-founded by Tyler and his cousin Kim Malek more than 13 years ago, with the idea of creating small-batch artisanal ice cream using the best possible ingredients. Today, Tyler and Kim have firmly established Salt & Straw as one of the most popular ice cream shops in America, with Tyler receiving accolades such as being named one of Forbes 30 Under 30 for “Changing the Way America Eats” and an Eater “Young Gun,” among others. While Tyler continues to push the boundaries of ice cream flavors through Salt & Straw’s monthly rotating menus that reflect culinary trends, seasonality of ingredients, and relevant cultural moments, Salt & Straw maintains its commitment to always serving the best versions.
