About Our Contributed Posts
Some of our readers have noticed that, from time to time, we have posted articles on Woman Around Town that are by Contributed in Contributed. We want to take this opportunity to explain what you are reading when you read a “Contributed” post.
As you know, most websites and media companies earn revenue from advertising. Woman Around Town is no different. We do post a very few ads from companies on the right-hand side of the website. Those are called affiliate ads, which may provide Woman Around Town a very small fee for sales made through those ads.
We also post articles which contain links to advertiser websites. We label those Contributed Posts. Contributed posts are advertisements written by third parties who have paid Woman Around Town for publication. That wording is included at the bottom of every contributed post on the website. If you miss the by-line indicating it’s by Contributed, this last word will let you know that you’ve just read an advertisement.
We are very particular about the contributed posts we accept and publish on our site. They must be well written and informative. They must be accurate about the topics they cover, and they must link only to approved websites. For example, we will not accept a contributed post if it contains links to gambling, vaping, dating, cheating, or essay writing sites. We read and consider each contributed post before approving it for posting because we value our readers and know what you expect of us.
We appreciate your support of Woman Around Town as we strive to keep the lights on and provide you with the quality and meaningful content you’ve come to expect from us.
