It happens every January and February. A notice catches my eye about how successful the “2 for 1” Broadway show program went. It’s the period right after the holidays when tickets for top shows are heavily discounted, so for the price of one ticket, you get 2. I jump onto the website to see if anything is left and see “sold out” over and over and over again. Shows I’ve been eager to see will continue to be shows I am eager to see. Darn it, I missed it again. That was last year.
2026 is going to be different.
That’s why I am ready to jump on the site and grab my tickets for Juliet, or maybe The Great Gatsby, maybe both. Here’s your chance to do the same. Yes, it’s cold, and the days are shorter, nights are longer, but how cheery the season will be when you know you have a date in the city and maybe even a great meal at one of the participating restaurants that have their own deep discounts. With over 150 hotels also taking part, maybe make your day trip an overnighter.
Called the NYC Winter Outing (SM) 2026, this event which runs from January 20 through February 12, is “a cherished annual tradition,” says Julie Coker, President and CEO of New York City Tourism + Convention. “This is the ultimate value period for visitors to enjoy all that New York City has to offer—from diverse cuisine and rich cultural experiences to hotels reflective of the City’s distinct neighborhoods. Since its inception, NYC Winter Outing has supported nearly 5,000 businesses citywide, helping to power an industry that generates over $50 billion in direct spending each year.”

Some of the Broadway shows taking part include The Book of Morman, Buena Vista Social Club, Chess, The Devil Becomes Her, and The Lion King are among the 26 shows taking part. This 2 for 1 offer can’t be beat. (Broadway Week)
The NYC Restaurant Week features selections for every taste, whether you’re looking for a specific meal type, or neighborhood, or something for a date night, the filter option on the site will point you in the right direction. (Restaurant Week)
The third choice for finding fun adventures is the “must see” options for 80 museums, attractions, performing arts and tours throughout the five boroughs, places like Barclays Center Tours, Carnegie Hall, Empire State Building, Jazz at Lincoln Center and more.(Must See Week)
And if you can turn it into an overnighter, consider trying out one of the participating hotels like the Plaza, Renaissance, The Pierre, Radio Hotel, and lots more. Find 25% off standard rates through February 12, citywide!
Woman Around Town invites you to make a visit, see why the city is considered the greatest in the world, and if you’re already a believer, come and remember why.
And make sure to put it on your calendar for 2027!
