The Pocono Mountain excursion of your dreams awaits. Camelback Resort in Tannersville, Pennsylvania, ensures a seamless guest experience whether you are having a couple’s getaway, traveling as a friends’ group or gathering the whole family. Ski, snowboard, snow tube, splash, dine, play, and relax this winter at this outstanding 560-acre resort. By car, it’s only 90 minutes from New York City and two hours from the Philadelphia area.
It’s not the first time we visited Camelback Resort but there were some definite differences in our party. Our daughter and son-in-law joined us with their pup, Wally. Camelback is dog-friendly, an added convenience for pet owners. The resort welcomes parties of all sizes with their attractive, comfortable rooms, suites and condos. The largest one can even accommodate 14 guests. Many of the suites and room styles include fireplaces, balconies, spacious lofts and full kitchens that feature the conveniences of home. We were so pleased by our roomy two-bedroom suite.

To say there’s something for everyone at Camelback Resort is no exaggeration. Avid skiers and snowboarders can take to the slopes that have been impeccably groomed. Newbies can take advantage of lessons and equipment rentals that offer special rates. Because we are not a skiing family, the fun of snow tubing was just perfect for us with single and double tubes available for the rides. We did a daytime session for two hours and had plenty of exciting runs. There’s also popular nighttime snow tubing under glowing lights.
Make the resort’s Aquatopia Indoor Water Park part of your day’s plan. No matter what the weather is, there’s always a vibrant summery feel with 13 thrilling water slides, kiddie slides, and an inviting wave pool. Consider renting a stylish, cabana with lounges for the day where your party can relax and socialize while enjoying Aquatopia’s beachy, colorful ambiance. Guests 21 and older will want to refresh at Oasis, the swim-up bar for delightful craft cocktails.
And there’s more for guests to explore! Arcadia Adventures is a two-story venue that has activities including The K2 Climb and The Ascent; a Lasertron Laser Tag arena; a bumper car course; Game of Stones Escape Room; The Stone Rollers mini bowling alley and more. There’s also Polka Dot Pots for creative pottery making and the expansive Arcadia Mega Arcade packed with over 100 state-of-the-art video arcade games. There’s fun for all!

Dining is an integral part of the Camelback Resort scene and the options are carefully planned to give you the best possible meal experiences. Start your day at Hemisphere’s where their bountiful, delicious buffet breakfast will power up your day. Fruit, yogurt, pastries, omelets, waffles, breakfast meats and more are wonderfully prepped and presented.
We are big fans of Trails End Pub & Grille, a ski-in/ski out American brew pub that is open daily. It’s easily accessed from the resort and features selections that are satisfying palate pleasers for all tastes and styles. Order a finely-crafted cocktail such as their Fireside with made withWoodford reserve, caramel syrup, vanilla syrup, and bitters or the Trailblazer Margarita with Patron silver, blood orange purée, lime juice, and agave. For those that prefer, there’s a nice selection of beer and wine.Appetizers for the table include cravable choices like Nacho Fries, Hall of Fame Wings, and Fried Pickles. You won’t find a better burger than The Blue Line Blitz and the Gridiron Grilled Cheese, served with Tomato Basil Soup is perfect for a winter warm-up. Menu items like this and scrumptious desserts will have you coming back for more. Of course, there’s a Kid’s Menu with faves for the youngsters.
Wood fired pizza perfection is served at Graffiti Pizza with a delectable variety of pies and sides to accompany. And Alta Vida, just steps from the resort is a favorite area restaurant offering authentic Mexican cuisine.
While staying at Camelback Resort is a total pleasure, people can also gather their group and take advantage of single day passes for activities. And stop by anytime to indulge in their great dining choices.
