Generous Pour at The Capital Grille – Sure to Please Food and Wine Lovers

The Capital Grille’s annual summer wine event, The Generous Pour – Legends of the Land, is pleasing guests with the opportunity to savor delicious food while sipping any combination of seven top wines that have been selected from California’s Jackson Family. Now in its 11th year, The Generous Pour is available at all of The Capital Grille locations through September 1 for $28 per person, in addition to the cost of your meal ($38 in Pennsylvania). It’s an incredible value to experience fine wines.

This year’s wines were specially chosen by The Capital Grille’s Advanced Sommelier, Brian Phillips, to pair perfectly with the restaurant’s cuisine. Phillips commented, “The Capital Grille chose to partner with the renowned Jackson Family not only because of their varied and intense wine selections, but also their history, commitment, and stewardship to the land across California’s wine country. Not only does each of the featured wines have a unique story to tell, but in the telling we unearth the flavors and nuances that pair perfectly with The Capital Grille’s signature menu items. From unique red blends to subtle whites to a historic Cabernet Sauvignon, the personalized pairing experiences of The Generous Pour will be as legendary as the wines themselves.”

Cenyth + Bone-In NY Strip

We visited on a Sunday for an evening meal at the Rockefeller Center location on West 51st Street close to the Theatre District. With multiple locations in New York City, a location in Washington, D.C., and beyond, The Capital Grille is very accessible. Currently, they are participating in New York City’s Restaurant Week now through August 16 that presents guests with the option for a two-course lunch or three-course dinner at a remarkable savings. They also have their seasonal Summer Menu available in addition to their signature menu.

We kicked off our meal with two of our favorites. The creamy, savory Lobster Bisque is some of the best you’ll ever have. The generous Wedge Salad is topped with blue cheese dressing and crispy smoked bacon. The restaurant’s hand cut steaks are a go-to course for many people and whether you order the Sliced Filet Mignon or Dry Aged New York Strip Steak, your meat is cooked to your exact liking. It’s nice to know that there are also other tempting selections such as Pan Seared Sea Bass, Sea Scallops, Roasted Rack of Lamb, and Roasted Chicken. Be sure to add some sides for table sharing like Lobster Mac ‘N’ Cheese, Creamed Spinach, Roasted Wild Mushrooms, Au Gratin Potatoes, and more.

Copain + Pan-Fried Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers
