The state of the art keto diet is considered to be one of the best ways by which one can reduce weight and, at the same time, enjoy complimentary health benefits provided by the low carbohydrate, moderate protein intake, and low-fat diet. While many people often confuse a low carbohydrate diet with a low fiber diet, strict consumption of this diet may deprive the body of the much-needed fiber. There are a plethora of keto diets available. Listed are some of the much-needed fibers required in your keto diet for the body’s balanced nutrition.

Spice up your leafy greens

Green vegetables like lettuce, cauliflower, celery, kale, zucchini, cucumber, etc. provide a sufficient amount of fibers essential for the body. Eating green vegetables plain can make them boring.

You can make them interesting by pairing it with a cube or two of cheddar cheese. You can also saute these green vegetables with any of the aromatic oils and garnish them with herbs like basil, oregano, etc.

Keeping your body cool with green smoothies

Combining your green veggies with chia seeds and then making a slushie smoothie can give you instant relief on any day. Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, Brussels, sprouts can impart a smooth green texture without actually giving a strong vegetable flavor.

Tossing some low sugar berries, avocados, tomatoes can make the green smoothie even better. To give it everlasting and a cool taste, freeze some of the berries. That way, keeping in mind the low carbohydrate requirement, your green smoothie is perfect for a hot summer of June.

Crunch up your food

Nuts are the best munching mini food when someone is hungry. It provides a wholesome and filling sensation. Besides fiber, they also provide a good source of fat, making it perfect for a keto diet.

Meat is considered as the chief food for a ketogenic diet. You can crunch it by covering it with chopped peanuts or pecans. Mix up your juicy berries with crunchy peanuts to make a perfect keto brunch.

Fiber supplements for Keto diet

Apart from natural sources of fiber, you can also opt for artificial sources of fiber. Sometimes the natural sources are not able to fulfill the desired amount of fiber required by the body. So, you can choose to take fiber supplements.

Fiber supplements are suggested because sometimes, some of the natural sources of fiber tend to supply the body with high carbohydrates, which may disrupt the keto diet mechanism. That is why they are advised in limited amounts. So, the rest of the requirements can be fulfilled by taking additional fiber supplements.

Let’s go on a seedy trail

Small oilseeds like chia seeds, flax seeds are wholesome of fibers and micronutrients. They can be sprinkled over salads, yogurt, or even made into dippings and dressings that can complement your keto diet.

Sometimes, keto fiber can deprive the body of essential vitamins and minerals. Apart from providing these vitamins and minerals, consuming these seeds in your diet will also ensure a rich supply of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.
