It’s No Place Like Home – Part II: Decorating the Dorm Room

Next, the Dorm Room. It’s small and cramped so there’s not much to do except try to make your student more comfortable as she or he burns the midnight oil.  We have suggestions, and because all of them are available on Amazon, they can be shipped directly to your student at college.

Let’s start with the desk. While many students prefer to study in the library, it’s important to have a comfortable place to study in one’s room.  Just in case.

Catalina printed cork board will hold all the essential reminders about tests, due dates, and outings with friends. $19.19

Tomos Natural Designs wooden lamp is a bit more stylish than the usual dorm issued gooseneck.  It may not make studying fun, but it sure is nice to look at. Comes in several colors. 19.99

Lamicall Laptop Riser: [360-Rotating] Desktop Holder elevates your student’s laptop so it’s eye-level.  Slanted keyboard eliminates wrist fatigue when typing the days notes or term papers.  It’s also a great for times when it’s important to take a break and stream a show. 29.99

Now, let’s talk about the rest of the room – or whatever space is left after the bed and desk. This is essential to a student’s well-being. We have some time-tested recommendations.
