You’ve just landed in Vegas, and the desert heat gives you a warm welcome the second you step outside. Neon signs are already flashing in the distance, and the buzz of slot machines seems to echo through the air even in broad daylight. You have a packed itinerary, a playlist, and a solid sense of adventure.

After picking up your car rental in Las Vegas airport, the city is yours to explore. From the Strip to the quirky corners of downtown, Vegas has a lot of ground to cover, and luckily, getting around is part of the fun. With these 7 ways to get around Las Vegas, you’re all set to roll through the city like a pro.

1. Walk the Walk

Walking might sound simple, but on the Las Vegas Strip, it’s an experience. With elevated pedestrian bridges, sidewalks packed with performers, and air-conditioned hotels you can walk through, it’s one of the most interesting ways to get around. That said, the Strip is longer than it looks. Bring comfy shoes, and be ready for some serious steps.

2. Hop on the Bus (The Deuce)

The Deuce is the city’s double-decker bus that runs up and down the Strip and connects you to downtown Vegas. It runs 24/7, and passes are cheap — especially if you plan to hop on and off all day. It’s a great way to sit back and take in the lights without fighting traffic or dealing with parking.

3. Cruise the Monorail

The Las Vegas Monorail runs along the east side of the Strip, and hit stops near major resorts like the MGM Grand and Caesars Palace. It’s clean, fast, and avoids street traffic altogether. You’ll need to walk a bit from the platform to the main hotel areas, but for a few bucks, it beats sitting in a cab line.

4. Grab a Rideshare or Taxi

Uber and Lyft are everywhere in Vegas, with designated pickup areas at most hotels. They’re great for late-night rides or when you’re too tired to walk. Taxis are still an option, too, though they may cost a bit more depending on the time and place. They both get the job done if you’re in a hurry or have a group.

5. Rent a Car for the Long Haul

A car is the way to go if you’re planning to explore beyond the Strip—like Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam, or even the quirky roadside stops off the beaten path. Renting is easy, especially at the airport. Just remember that hotel parking can come with a fee, and traffic can stack up during busy times.

6. Ride in Style: Limousines & Shuttles

Feeling fancy? Vegas has limos everywhere. Whether it’s a bachelorette bash or just a Tuesday, riding in style is part of the vibe. Many hotels also offer shuttles to and from the airport or between their properties, which can be a low-key and cost-friendly way to get around.

7. Two Wheels or No Wheels

Some parts of Vegas are perfect for biking or using an e-scooter, especially downtown and the Arts District. Just be careful with traffic, and follow the local rules. Some areas don’t allow scooters on sidewalks, and helmets are a good idea even if they’re not required.

Roll Out, Vegas Style

So, when you’re visiting Vegas, there are at least 7 solid ways to get around, each with its own perks depending on your vibe and schedule. From walking the Strip to cruising in a limo or zipping out of town in a rental car, your ride matters just as much as your destination.

Ready to hit the road (or rail or sidewalk)? Plan your Vegas transportation ahead of time so you can spend less energy figuring things out and more energy enjoying the ride.
