Wine during the holidays is always welcome. Whether you uncork a bottle to pair with your holiday meal, gift to family, friends and co-workers or just sip as you wrap presents or relax at home, we have a variety of suggestions at a range of price points. We have included some pairing ideas for upcoming meals. Check out the producers’ websites so you can browse their wine portfolios for more information. Cheers!

Vigorello Toscana IGT 2021 – This red blend includes Pugnitello, an ancient native grape revived by San Felice. Pugnitello is blended with Merlot; Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. In the glass, it has a festive garnet flecked ruby color. The wine has an enticing scent of red currant and sweet spice. On the palate, it is warm and rich with expressive tannins and smooth hints of vanilla. This wine pairs perfectly with roasts, particularly game and lamb, and well-aged cheeses.

ZELNA Rosé 2023 – This beautiful blush wine from the Zelna Winery in Hungary is a still, dry rosé that displays a deep pink hue in the glass. Serve it with a salad, brie appetizer, or a light pasta. It’s also a festive wine so raise a glass of ZELNA Rosé to toast the holidays with family and friends.

LAJVER SZEKSZARD by Lajver Winery – The estate bottled, Hungarian Wine by Lajver Winery is a luscious blend comprised of 59% Blaufrankisch, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, and 5% Kadarka. This versatile elegant wine is an ideal blend that showcases the talent of its winemakers. Serve it with roasted turkey and all the trimmings.

Charles Krug 2024 Limited Release Chenin Blanc – This white wine is elegant and textural. On the palate, it has notes of pear, lemon, and a subtle taste of honey. This wine is a standout and pairs wonderfully with holiday fare such as roast chicken accompanied by pan roasted winter vegetables.

Charles Krug 2023 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc — This fresh, zesty and aromatic wine with has tempting notes of citrus and rich tropical fruit. It has a bright acidity and is ideal to pair with oysters, goat cheese, green salads, and herb driven sauces such as pesto, or chimichurri.  It works beautifully with your vegetarian and vegan dishes.

2024 Priest Ranch Grenache Blanc – This wine is juicy and vibrant with notes of citrus, green apple, and white peach. It is the wine to serve with seafood dishes such as scallops, shrimp, and lobster.  You’ll also like this Grenache Blanc with spicy Asian fare. With the first sip, you’ll realize the versatility of this Grenache Blanc.

Sogno Mediterraneo Toscana IGT 2022 – Add a touch of  sparkle to any holiday table with.Sogno Mediterraneo. The wine has notes of blackberry, currant, and dark chocolate boasting silky tannins that make the wine perfect for winter.  It goes especially well with hearty meats and complements seasonal favorites like mushroom pasta, truffle dishes, roasted vegetables, and charcuterie boards. Even simple holiday treats like dark chocolate, nuts, and dried fruit are enhanced by sipping this wine.

2022 “Blue Heron” Stags Leap/Napa Valley Merlot – This wine is estate produced by Alamitos Vineyards in San Jose, CA, from the Stags Leap region of the Napa Valley.  Beautifully bottled, this lovely Merlot is welcome on all holiday tables.  Fruit forward, it pairs nicely with dishes that include hearty Italian fare such as spaghetti and meatballs or lasagna.
